Power of Breath

Relearn to breathe and explore breathing techniques for emotional balance and soundness of mind.

Though we breathe on average 20,000 times a day, most of us are unaware of the incredible power of the breath and its ability to transform the way we feel in any given moment.

We assume that breathing is a passive action, something we do naturally, and that our daily autonomic breathing pattern is sufficient: breathe, live, stop breathing, die.  However, the breath has the dual quality of being both voluntary and something we can control and an understanding of how to integrate both these qualities of breath into our everyday lives has the capacity to transform every moment of our lives.

Breathwork can help reduce or reverse symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, and ADD - by simply changing the way we inhale and exhale.  Breathing in different patterns can influence our body weight and overall health, affect the size and function of our lungs, control our immune response, tone our nervous system and restore physical and mental health.

Practiced consistently and with intention, the breath connects us with our innate wisdom and brings greater awareness to ourself, our life and the decisions we make, leading to improvements in overall well-being and happiness.  In short, changing the way we breathe will help us live better, and longer.
