To live in season and cycle, remembering the inherent rhythms we were born into.
Contrary to common beliefs and the pace of our modern world, we cannot live in eternal Summer. Each season carries unique energy, which is influenced by the elements present at that time. When we consciously choose to move with the seasons, we can harness the natural energies (intrinsic qualities) readily available to us, rather than resisting or fighting against them.
Life is not linear, nor is it fixed to one season - so why do we struggle and strive to live in such an unnatural way? We can choose to step off the plane path of goal-driven trajectories and forward thinking and move with the curve of the year, where time moves gently and in reassuring circles. Coming into rhythm with the natural world helps us embody and re-balance the fluctuations around us to move in harmony with the tides of change.
Navigating Autumn
This time of year can stir up a lot; there is the unrooting of the harvest and the thinning of the leaves - baring and unearthing. It is a time of refinement, assimilation and integration, which is not always seamless or kind. It can cause us to feel uprooted and untethered as the Air and Ether elements draw us into the ever-whirling world of our minds and out of our sentient earthly bodies. There can be a sense of not having enough time or feeling as though life has accelerated and you cannot keep up! The days might feel rushed or hurried as if you've been swept up in the tide… like a leaf on the breeze.
If this rings true to you, join Verity next Sunday for an afternoon of Ayurveda and Yoga. She will share empowering tools and tips and guide you through a gentle grounding practice to help navigate autumn more gracefully. Discover practices, routines and rituals that harmonise your inner and outer worlds - consciously choosing to re-root, slow down and bring life back to solid ground.
